Job summary

Old Colony Elder Services (OCES) in Brockton, MA, is expanding its Protective Services department and seeking a dedicated Protective Services Worker (PSW) to investigate and substantiate allegations of abuse and neglect among elder adults. The role offers a 35-hour work week in a hybrid environment (office and home visits).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field preferred; licensure if applicable.
• Minimum two years in human services, elder population preferred.
• Bilingual abilities preferred.
• Experience with crisis intervention is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote independent functioning and provide services in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment.
• Conduct investigations and evaluate the functional capacity, situation and resources of the elder.
• Develop and implement appropriate protective services plan to alleviate risk and abuse.
• Determine whether a petition to the court for a Protective Order exists and refer situations involving serious abuse to the appropriate District Attorney.
• Provide emergency PS department coverage during non-business hours.
