Siemens Electrification & Automation (EA) seeks a Protection and Automation Proposals Application Engineer to support project proposals and solution design for customers across the United States.

This mid-career role is ideal for engineers who have developed technical expertise in power systems, protection and control, and automation, and who are ready to lead proposal preparation and customer-facing technical communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• 4+ years of professional experience.
• Knowledge of power system principles and protection/control schemes.
• Experience evaluating relay P&C schemes and diagrams.
• Ability to interpret specifications and apply Siemens products cost-effectively.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specs for protection, automation, and power systems.
• Develop accurate technical and commercial proposals with BOMs and layouts.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and PM to ensure timely proposals.
• Interface with customers to answer questions and optimize solutions.
• Ensure proposals comply with IEEE/IEC/NEMA standards and manage risks.
• Mentor junior engineers and improve proposal tools.
