Job summary

Siemens is hiring an Applications Engineer for Protection and Automation Proposals in Wendell, NC. This early-career role supports proposal development, documentation, and technical solution configuration for USA customers while learning Siemens tools, standards, and engineering methods.

You'll work with senior engineers, Sales, and cross-functional teams to develop customer solutions, prepare technical proposals, and gain exposure to the full project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 0-1 year of professional work experience (internships may count).
• Understanding of Electrical Power System fundamentals.
• Basic understanding of Single Line Diagrams and major substation equipment.
• Willingness to travel up to 20%.
• Willingness to relocate to the greater Raleigh, NC area.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Review customer specifications, technical requirements, and product documentation under senior guidance.
• Support the development of technical and commercial proposals for automation, protection, and power distribution systems.
• Assist in preparing panel layouts, BOMs, and basic system architectures.
• Help collect technical data, drawings, and documentation for project quotations and approvals.
• Learn industry standards (IEEE, IEC, UL, NEMA) for electrical systems and products.
• Participate in internal meetings with Engineering, Sales, and Project Management to gain project exposure.
• Support updates to templates, tools, and documentation to improve efficiency.
