Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking a Proposal Writer for its Buildings & Real Estate practice. The role supports private and public-sector proposals, coordinating with service line leaders and the Proposal Manager to deliver high-quality, compliant submissions.

You will develop proposals, gather input, and ensure language clarity while coordinating with Legal and Finance to finalize packages. The position requires in-office presence four days a week with one remote day.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in proposal writing and estimating.
• Exceptional analytical, creative problem solving and written communication skills.
• Maintain composure and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines while managing multiple proposals simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Familiar with Microsoft Copilot and Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe InDesign).
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate proposals and estimates under the direction of the Proposal Manager.
• Coordinate with service line leaders to gather input on proposal scope and fees.
• Develop technical proposals based on templates and estimates for level of effort and fees.
• Research, gather information, and attend meetings with service line leaders to reflect SOCOTEC’s expertise.
• Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to produce complete proposal packages.
• Review proposal language for clarity, accuracy, grammar and spelling.
• Contact clients to obtain additional information needed to develop the proposal.
• Maintain client and project data in our CRM platform (Deltek).
• Refine templates, narratives, and graphics based on client needs and regional feedback.
