Job summary

Actalent is hiring a Project Surveyor for our Los Angeles, CA office. The role supports project managers by delivering land surveying and mapping services for diverse projects, including ALTA surveys, boundary and topographic mapping, and construction staking.

You will work with engineers, developers, architects, and clients to ensure accurate, timely deliverables and adherence to budget and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D for survey drawings and staking.
• Experience with boundary, topographic, ALTA, and construction staking surveys.
• Knowledge of geodetic/boundary analysis and data interpretation.
• Ability to prepare precise staking calculations.
• Strong understanding of surveying principles and procedures.
• Experience supporting multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to perform survey research using records and deeds.
• Ability to visit job sites and supervise field crews.
• Ability to work long periods seated or standing at a computer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with project teams and clients.
• Comfort collaborating with engineers, developers, architects, contractors, and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers with planning and executing land surveying tasks.
• Calculate and analyze field boundary data for boundary and topo surveys.
• Support field crews with guidance and clarifications.
• Research records, deeds, maps for ALTA surveys.
• Prepare ALTA, subdivision, parcel, and tract maps.
• Develop and review construction staking calculations.
• Coordinate with clients and project managers throughout projects.
• Produce survey drawings and documentation with CAD tools.
