Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Project Surveyor to join our Los Angeles Survey team. This primarily office-based role involves managing survey assignments, solving complex technical challenges, and coordinating with field crews and engineering teams.

You will own the technical execution, oversee multiple projects, and support design and construction with accurate surveying deliverables.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience in land surveying, ~10+ years
• Strong knowledge of boundary, topographic surveying, and construction staking
• Experience preparing and reviewing survey data and mapping documents
• Proficiency with CAD software used in surveying and mapping
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines
• Experience coordinating with field crews and managers
• Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently within a collaborative team

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate technical execution of multiple surveying assignments
• Perform survey research, calculations, boundary analysis, and evaluations
• Prepare and review ALTA/NSPS surveys, parcel maps, legal descriptions, staking calculations
• Analyze field data and boundary records to resolve issues
• Coordinate with field crews to communicate requirements and data
• Work with Project Managers to set priorities, monitor progress, and meet budgets
• Collaborate with civil engineering teams to provide survey support for design and construction
• Perform quality reviews of calculations, drawings, and maps for standards
• Assist with scheduling field activities and office production efforts
• Communicate progress with project managers and clients as needed
• Exercise independent judgment to resolve technical challenges
• Visit project sites to inspect conditions and address needs
