Sierra Nevada Corporation in Colorado (Englewood) seeks a Senior Engineering Manager to lead multiple Project Engineering leads within IAS programs, guiding strategic planning, budget alignment, and on-time delivery. This role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, regulatory awareness, and mentoring of engineers.

The position requires partnering with executives, promoting new technologies, and maintaining high-quality standards while interfacing with stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, or related field).
• 10+ years of engineering experience with at least 4+ years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience managing large-scale engineering programs.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Extensive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulation.
• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teams.
• Previous management experience; recruiting and evaluating staff; developing staff competence.

Responsibilities

• Manage the multiple Project Engineering leads embedded within IAS programs.
• Develop strategic plans to guide engineering direction and alignment with goals.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet standards.
• Foster relationships with customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.
• Drive innovation and adoption of new technologies and methodologies.
• Provide high-level technical guidance and decision-making.
• Mentor and nurture junior engineers and interface with leaders across disciplines.
• Establish regular meetings with Sr Project Engineers and define training/tools/process improvements.
• Report status to executive management and provide insights on engineering initiatives.
