Job summary

System One is seeking a Project Manager for Digital Platform Engineering on a contract basis in Merrifield, VA. You will support the Platform Engineering team with project management across digital initiatives, coordinating a portfolio of modernization, decommissioning, security, and operational projects.

You will collaborate with engineering leaders, product teams, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders, drive planning, status reporting, and governance, and ensure timely execution with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business/IT
• 3–5 years as a PM/Program Manager
• Experience in Agile software development; Scrum/SAFe familiarity
• Cloud technologies experience; Azure preferred
• Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and prioritizing work
• Strong written and verbal communication; executive reporting experience

Responsibilities

• Provide PM support for Digital initiatives and external requests
• Coordinate a portfolio of Platform Engineering initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering leaders, product teams, risk, compliance, and stakeholders
• Lead planning and tracking for decommissioning initiatives
• Represent Platform Engineering in governance, risk, and security reviews
• Drive prioritization across operations, strategy, and modernization
• Maintain visibility into commitments and risks; escalate when needed
• Develop executive-ready communications and status dashboards
• Coordinate intake of ad hoc requests and ensure alignment with business objectives
• Monitor milestone progress and deliverables
• Collaborate with vendors and external partners as needed
• Support annual planning, roadmap development, and capacity planning
• Identify process improvements and governance enhancements
• Serve as a partner to leadership to enable technical focusing on architecture and delivery
