Job summary

SCHAEFER SYSTEM INTERNATIONAL INC. is seeking a Project Engineer to lead technical clarification, develop system layouts, and coordinate between trades and vendors for intralogistics projects.

You will prepare specifications and support management throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires a Engineering degree and 4+ years in related fields, plus strong CAD skills and excellent communication to convey technical information to customers and teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• 4+ years of experience in project engineering, plant engineering, mechanical engineering, steel construction, mechatronics, or related industrial environment.
• Proficiency with CAD software and CAD drafting tools, including ability to create and interpret technical drawings and layouts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex technical documents, specifications, graphs, and engineering data.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to customers, project teams, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Support project management throughout the project lifecycle, from order receipt through customer handover, ensuring successful execution and delivery.
• Develop overall system layouts, coordinate cross-functional interfaces, and prepare technical specifications and tender documentation for third-party contractors and vendors.
• Create and maintain technical project documentation while ensuring compliance with applicable codes, regulations, standards, and customer requirements.
• Collaborate with construction and project management teams to assess site conditions, monitor third-party work, and support installation and commissioning activities.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute testing and experimental setups within the technology center to validate system performance and design solutions.
• Provide construction site and field support as needed, serving as a liaison between office and site teams and acting on behalf of the Project Manager when required.
