Job summary

Harman Huffman Construction Group seeks a Project Engineer / Estimator to join our office team in a hybrid role supporting project management, field coordination, and preconstruction estimating.

Qualifications

• Entry-level acceptable; mid-level preferred (1–5 years in construction PM, PE, or estimating roles)
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (but not required with experience)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office; experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or MS Project is a plus
• Self-driven, motivated, and eager to learn through hands-on training
• Ability to work full-time in office

Responsibilities

• Manage and process submittals and RFIs
• Assist with plan review, drawing distribution, and document control
• Support communication between field superintendents and project management
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors on scopes, scheduling, and deliverables
• Prepare meeting minutes, logs, and project documentation
• Assist with scheduling updates (Microsoft Project)
• Support punchlist efforts and project closeout
• Review plans, specifications, and addenda to determine scope requirements
• Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with cost estimating
• Send bid invitations and coordinate subcontractor pricing
• Analyze subcontractor proposals and compare scope coverage
• Prepare budgets, bid tabs, and estimate packages
• Support value engineering and cost‑saving alternative evaluations
• Participate in internal preconstruction meetings and strategy sessions
