Job summary

Engtal in Connecticut is seeking an experienced mid level to Senior Estimator to join a well‑established general contractor. The role covers estimates from initial review through final bid, with opportunity across competitive bids and design‑build projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of estimating experience and a strong understanding of construction means, methods, and costs. Field experience and proficiency with estimating software are a plus, with a hybrid work option available.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a General Contractor or Construction Management firm.
• Experience with competitive bid and/or design-build projects; a mix of both is preferred.
• Strong communication, organization and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual through final bid.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and other bid documents.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate labor and material pricing.
• Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor proposals.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and value-engineering opportunities.
• Work closely with project management and field teams throughout preconstruction.
• Support both competitive bid and design-build pursuits.
• Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
