Job summary

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is seeking a Program Manager to support the Senior Program Manager in delivering Midtown Bus Terminal Replacement and related MCP projects. You will assist in managing design contracts, coordinate with design consultants, and help ensure design development aligned with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of two years of experience in capital projects, preferably including design management or field construction experience.
• Experience supporting design and/or construction of mechanical and/or electrical projects.
• Ability to review technical documents, drawings, specifications and coordinate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Program Manager in delivering MBTR and MCP projects.
• Assist in managing design contracts to ensure scope, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Monitor and coordinate design consultants, focusing on mechanical and electrical systems.
• Administer contracts, review invoices, track progress, and support change orders.
• Coordinate with facility operations and stakeholders to support MBTR design development.
• Facilitate coordination between design team and construction management on submissions and commissioning.
• Review and track consultant and contractor submittals for alignment with design intent.
• Provide field oversight by monitoring construction activities and escalating issues.
• Maintain project documentation and QA/acceptance materials.
• Communicate project status, risks and issues to leadership and cross-team coordination.
