Job summary

Motive Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to lead cost management across a diverse project portfolio.

The role emphasizes contingency management, change control, and change orders, with collaboration across project managers and engineers to set budgets and schedules. This hybrid position requires 3 days per week at The Woodlands, TX, up to 25% travel, and offers a wage range of $60,000–$160,000 per year plus a benefits package.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years of experience in cost management or cost controls.
• Hands-on contingency management, change control, and change orders experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel.
• Knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in utilities, construction, oil and gas, or renewable energy industries is a plus.
• Ability to work in The Woodlands, TX (hybrid) with Houston area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project controls systems, including cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management, in accordance with company standards and best practices.
• Own contingency management and change control processes, including tracking, evaluating, and processing change orders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to establish project budgets, schedules, and performance metrics.
• Monitor project performance against established metrics and identify potential issues and risks.
• Provide recommendations for corrective action to project managers and stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
• Provide regular status reports and updates to project managers and stakeholders on project progress, including budget, schedule, and risk management.
• Develop and maintain project documentation, including cost estimates, schedules, change order logs, and risk assessments.
