Job summary

Motive Power, Inc. is seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to lead cost management, contingency handling, and change order administration across a diverse project portfolio.

The role emphasizes developing project controls, tracking budgets, schedules, and risk, with a hybrid work model requiring 3 days on-site in The Woodlands, TX and up to 25% travel. Strong analytics and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of experience in cost management or cost controls.
• Hands-on experience with contingency management, change control, and change orders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of Primavera or Microsoft Project.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience in utilities, construction, oil & gas, or renewable energy is a plus.
• Hybrid work: 3 days/week in The Woodlands, TX; Houston area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement project controls systems, including cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
• Own contingency management and change control processes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to establish budgets, schedules, and metrics.
• Monitor project performance against established metrics and identify risks.
• Provide recommendations for corrective actions to keep projects on schedule and budget.
• Provide regular status reports on budget, schedule, and risk management.
• Develop and maintain project documentation including cost estimates, schedules, change orders, and risk assessments.
