Job summary

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine seeks a program officer to contribute to the REDI initiative within the Biomedical and Health Sciences Program. You will coordinate working groups, plan workshops, and prepare proceedings addressing data lifecycle management and resource prioritization.

The role requires advanced knowledge in related scientific or policy issues, strong project management, and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• PROJECT MANAGEMENT: develop strategy, manage budget, run workshops, write summaries.
• COMMITTEE MANAGEMENT: recruit nominees, coordinate, staff liaison.
• RESEARCH AND WRITING: prepare background papers, edit publications, support review responses.
• STAFF MANAGEMENT: assign tasks, guide staff, uphold policies.
• COMMUNICATION AND DISSEMINATION: plan outreach, manage materials and websites.
• PROJECT DEVELOPMENT: perform background research, draft proposals, identify sponsors.
