Job summary

The New York City Mayor’s Office, a leader in city services across five boroughs, seeks a Project Manager, Programs, to provide communications, policy, and programmatic support for NYC Talent. Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills across diverse audiences.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to prioritize conflicting demands.
• Ability to work independently with initiative to accomplish tasks and solve problems.
• Ability to learn new skills and adapt to citywide initiatives.
• Proven project management skills including planning and scheduling.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams).
• Familiarity with Airtable and design/communications tools like Canva and Constant Contact.
• Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with program stakeholders across government.

Responsibilities

• Manage project plans and deliverables, meeting deadlines and resolving issues.
• Provide administrative support for the Chief Policy and Programs Officer and Senior Advisor, Programs.
• Provide analysis and recommendations on policy and program decisions for NYC Talent initiatives.
• Coordinate and prepare briefings for meetings, events, tasks, and initiatives.
• Draft meeting agendas, track next steps and follow-ups.
• Develop and execute communications tools and strategies (print, newsletters, social media).
• Support nonprofits and contracted providers through technical assistance and advisement.
• Coordinate with NYC Talent teams to align programming with industry trends and city priorities.
• Collaborate with External Affairs to showcase successes and promote initiatives.
• Supervise Youth Interns/Apprentices as needed.
• Support research and policy development to improve program operations and outcomes.
