Job summary

AVIRE, a multi-brand safety and life-safety company, seeks a Production Engineer for our Sussex, Wisconsin site. You will own process design, tooling, validation and change control across new product introductions and sustaining engineering.

You will lead cross-functional teams to optimize flow, cost, and quality from prototype through full production. You will drive lean improvements, define layouts and capacity plans, and mentor staff on new processes while ensuring safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with 5–9 years in manufacturing or 3–7 years with a Master's, or 8+ years direct experience.
• Knowledge of quality system regulations (ISO 9001, UL, EN 81-28).
• Ability to develop tooling architectures, define process controls, and validate performance.
• Experience with analytical methods and statistics.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in a complex environment.
• Ability to assess mechanical/electrical design for manufacturability.
• Lean/Six Sigma certification strongly desired; familiarity with test software is a plus.
• Excellent written and oral communication, strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead NPI input with engineering support, tooling, PFMEAs, labor standards and test strategies from prototype to production release.
• Own the design, governance and control of manufacturing processes and related documentation.
• Define plant layout, production flow and capacity plans; coordinate manufacturing resources.
• Maintain and improve production equipment and tooling to maximise OEE and roadmap technology.
• Support root cause analysis, bottleneck resolution and supplier quality during the product lifecycle.
• Drive lean initiatives and continuous improvement with the global CI team.
• Train production personnel on new processes, procedures and equipment.
• Authorize production stops when safety, quality or regulatory standards are not met.
