Job summary

Goodheart-Willcox Publisher is seeking a Production Editor to manage outsourced production of primary content and supplementary materials, ensuring on-time completion. We welcome candidates from anywhere in the U.S.; Chicagoland applicants will follow a hybrid schedule, working at least twice a month in Tinley Park, Illinois.

Starting salary is projected between $60,000 and $70,000 per year, with a 10% Employee Stock Ownership Plan contribution and a 4% 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ production and/or project management experience required.
• Educational Publishing experience required.
• Prior experience with publishing production teams is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Project management of main texts and supplement materials.
• Create schedules, communicate milestones, update status documents, and ensure on-time delivery to printer or digital production.
• Run production and print supplement launch meetings.
• Onboard new vendors and align them with G-W style guides and processes.
• Manage vendors through regular communication and scorecards to meet expectations.
• Monitor budgets, create purchase orders and process invoices.
• Perform quality control to ensure files meet standards.
