Job summary

Clutch is seeking a Production Director in Los Angeles to scale our entire delivery engine across brand campaigns, creator shoots, and social content. You will lead staff and freelance producers, design scalable SOPs, and safeguard profitability while upholding creative excellence.

Reporting to operations leadership, you will own production workflows, budgets, risk mitigation, and cross-functional collaboration with Creative and Account teams to meet ambitious growth goals.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership experience directing production teams within creative agencies, content studios, or commercial production houses.
• Extensive background managing multiple producers and scaling cross-functional department workflows.
• Deep fluency in both high-end commercial productions and rapid-turnaround, social-first content formats.
• Strong financial literacy with a history of managing substantial budgets and resource forecasting.
• A robust, trusted network of production crew, directors, vendors, and creative partners.
• Exceptional leadership presence, meticulous organization, and a cool-headed approach to high-pressure environments.

Responsibilities

• Talent & Team Management: Cultivate and direct the production department—including staff producers, coordinators, PAs, and external vendor networks—while optimizing workload allocation and mentorship.
• Workflow Optimization: Build and refine end-to-end production systems, scheduling templates, workback schedules, and asset management frameworks to support aggressive agency expansion.
• Operational Oversight: Guide multiple simultaneous productions across premium brand storytelling, influencer activations, and high-volume digital content from kickoff through post-production delivery.
• Financial & Fiscal Governance: Own complex budget creation, profit-margin tracking, cost forecasting, and vendor negotiations with studios, equipment houses, and creative partners.
• Pre-Production & Risk Mitigation: Enforce rigorous pre-production planning standards (permits, casting, logistics, and safety) while acting as the ultimate escalation point for on-set troubleshooting.
• Strategic Collaboration: Align closely with creative leadership and account directors to ensure resource forecasting and production realities seamlessly match client expectations.
