Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience spanning creative direction, art direction, content production, or social creative.
• Strong foundation in visual storytelling, art direction, photography, or graphic design.
• Deep mastery of short-form social ecosystems (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
• Experience directing high-production shoots and fast-moving lo-fi social content.
• Excellent organizational skills to build shot lists, run-of-shows, and production workflows.
• Polished communication and presentation skills with creators, influencers, and clients.
• Bonus: motion design/editing or paid social expertise in beauty, fashion, wellness, or lifestyle.
• Based in Los Angeles, open to a hybrid schedule.

Clutch is looking for a hands‑on, culturally savvy Junior Creative Director for a client of ours—a social-first creative and influencer agency that helps major brands become part of modern culture. We need a hybrid creative leader who loves being directly in the work, translating strategy into scroll-stopping content, directing on set, and ensuring every asset performs as brilliantly as it looks.

About the Role: In this role, you will partner closely with strategists to turn high-level campaigns into cohesive, platform-native content systems across social, paid media, influencer, and brand channels. This isn’t a traditional, ivory-tower creative leadership position; it is built for someone who possesses both an elevated artistic eye and an operational mindset—equally comfortable concepting big ideas, building detailed shot lists, directing talent, and managing production workflows on set.

Responsibilities:

• Creative Development: Translate overarching campaign strategies into premium and lo-fi content concepts. Build scalable monthly content systems, recurring formats, and social-first series that elevate brand identities while driving performance.
• Creative Direction: Own all premium and lo-fi shot lists across your brand pod. Develop thorough creative briefs, guide visual direction, direct photography and video shoots, and mentor talent, creators, and editors toward a cohesive vision.
• Production Partnership: Partner hand-in-hand with production teams to build efficient shoot plans, run-of-show documents, and workflows. Source and vet photographers, videographers, stylists, and set designers, troubleshooting creatively on set when conditions change.
• Creative Leadership: Lead internal kickoff sessions, present concepts directly to clients, mentor junior creatives, and provide constructive feedback from initial concept through final delivery.
• Platform & Cultural Fluency: Stay ahead of emerging digital formats, editing styles, and platform shifts, identifying authentic ways for brands to participate in culture.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of professional experience spanning creative direction, art direction, content production, or social creative (agency background strongly preferred).
• A strong foundation in visual storytelling, art direction, photography, or graphic design.
• Deep mastery of short-form social ecosystems, including TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
• Demonstrated experience directing both high-production brand shoots and fast-moving, lo-fi social content on set.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to build detailed shot lists, run-of-shows, and production workflows.
• Polished communication and presentation skills, with a proven track record of working alongside creators, influencers, and clients.
• Bonus Points: Background in motion design/editing, paid social creative expertise, or experience working across beauty, fashion, wellness, CPG, and lifestyle brand categories.
• Must be based in the Los Angeles, CA area and open to a hybrid schedule.
