S4L Partners is seeking an associate for our Investment Services team in Chicago, New York City, or Washington, DC. The role targets lawyers with 3–5 years of corporate or securities law experience at a law firm, focused on SEC-registered advisers and private funds.Candidates should be versed in regulatory and compliance matters under the Investment Advisers Act, the Investment Company Act, and the Securities Act. A J.D. with admission in Illinois, New York, or DC is required or in progress.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of corporate and securities law experience at a law firm.
• Experience with SEC-registered investment advisers and private funds.
• Familiarity with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Investment Company Act of 1940, and the Securities Act of 1933.
• Bar admission in Illinois, New York, or DC (in good standing or in progress).
