Job summary

DLA Piper is seeking an associate to join its Investment Funds group in Chicago, other major U.S. markets, or at another posted office.

The candidate should have 3–6 years of experience and a JD, with strong academic background and practice in formation and operation of private equity, real estate, venture capital, and hedge funds. Experience in secondary transactions (sponsor- and investor-side) and in structuring separately managed accounts or carry vehicles is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in a law firm environment
• Admitted to practice in the state where office will be located
• JD from an accredited law school
• Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Advise on formation and operation of domestic and international private funds (private equity, real estate, venture capital, hedge funds)
• Represent funds in secondary transactions (sponsor-side and investor-side)
• Assist with structuring separately managed accounts and carry vehicles
• Contribute to a sophisticated investment funds practice and client service excellence
