Job summary

Manulife/John Hancock is seeking a Valuation Analyst in Boston to support private assets through modeling, analytics and performance reporting. You will build and maintain valuation tools, prepare documentation, and provide practical recommendations to management.

The role requires 2+ years in accounting/analytics, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of private equity/DEBT valuation. Hybrid work arrangement with emphasis on accurate, timely analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master plus CPA/CFA is a plus.
• 2+ years in accounting or financial analysis, preferably with valuation.
• Experience with valuation techniques for debt/equity or alternatives modeling.
• Knowledge of fixed income concepts: price, duration, yield, OAS.
• Understanding of private equity or private debt is a plus.
• Up to date with US GAAP and IFRS, strong written/verbal communication.
• Strong Excel/model-building skills; able to work with senior management.

Responsibilities

• Gather and track metrics used in investment models.
• Update valuation models and distribution waterfalls.
• Maintain portfolio cap tables and data accuracy.
• Prepare valuation documentation and management recommendations.
• Produce portfolio summaries and periodic senior-management reports.
• Develop comparable sets to drive valuation recommendations.
• Support quarterly/year-end financial reporting with accounting and auditors.
• Prepare investor reporting packages.
