Job summary

Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a Principal Safety Case Consultant to drive safety case strategy across major projects. The role is based at Warrington, with flexible UK-wide hybrid working and opportunities across Leicester, Newbury or Bristol.

You will provide technical leadership on safety case strategy, oversee hazard analyses, and manage safety case delivery teams while coordinating with Supply Chain and stakeholders to meet cost and programme targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with multi-disciplinary safety case delivery
• Strong understanding of core engineering disciplines and their role in safety cases
• Awareness of safety case areas such as criticality, shielding, dose, environmental, and human factors
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders
• Experience coaching or mentoring Safety Case Consultants

Responsibilities

• Provide nuclear safety input across all project stages, supporting design development and delivery
• Facilitate HAZID/HAZOP studies and develop robust hazard management strategies
• Lead production of radiological safety assessments and Safety Reports (PSRs/PCSRs)
• Offer technical leadership on safety case strategy, regulatory compliance, and safety documentation
• Manage safety case delivery teams and oversee supply chain progress against cost and schedule targets
