Job summary

Capital One is seeking an energetic Principal Auditor (Experienced Senior Auditor) to join its Audit team in a hybrid role. You will lead audits across Second Line and First Line Risk areas, provide SME advisory, and coach staff while maintaining strong client relations and applying data analytics to drive risk insights.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or military experience.
• At least 4 years of auditing, accounting, financial analysis, or compliance experience.
• At least 1 year of Enterprise Risk Management or Operational Risk Management experience.
• Leadership experience in audits is preferred.
• Professional certifications like CIA or CPA are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead small audits or major components of larger audits.
• Develop engagement planning docs and audit programs.
• Design and execute audit procedures; document processes and evidence.
• Prepare clear documentation to support conclusions; escalate issues.
• Maintain client and team relationships; communicate audit progress.
• Plan and prioritize work; support other team initiatives and exams.
• Coach and train audit staff.
