Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Sector Americas seeks a Principal Engineer to lead DFSS and reliability initiatives, turning customer needs into strong requirements and reducing risk. The role spans collaboration with product teams, labs, and manufacturing, with a hybrid work model and relocation support.

The role emphasizes coaching, data-driven decisions, and development of reusable DFSS playbooks to elevate program outcomes and readiness across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10+ years in DFSS, reliability, or related technical roles.
• Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent DFSS expertise.
• Hands-on experience with DFSS and reliability tools in product development.

Responsibilities

• Lead DFSS and Design for Reliability deployment across programs.
• Lead complex technical and quality problem solving using DFSS tools.
• Guide teams in QFD, FMEA, DOE, tolerance analysis, and related methods.
• Partner with labs to define test strategies, plans, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate test results and field data into corrective actions and design improvements.
• Coach engineers and project teams to grow DFSS capability across programs.
• Define and track quality and reliability indicators (DPMO, Cp/Cpk, MTBF).
• Collaborate with MBSE Chiefs, Systems Architects, and cross-functional teams.
• Develop training material and deployment playbooks for DFSS adoption.
• Advise engineering leaders on quality, reliability, and process improvement priorities.
