Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Sector Americas is seeking a Principal Engineer - Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) & Reliability to advance engineering excellence, convert customer needs into strong requirements, reduce risk, and improve reliability and quality. The role offers a hybrid work model across multiple locations in the US and relocation assistance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in product development, systems engineering, quality engineering or related roles.
Six Sigma Black Belt certification or equivalent DFSS expertise.
Hands-on experience applying DFSS and reliability tools in development, validation, or problem-solving environments.
Experience leading root-cause analysis, FMEA, test planning, validation, and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead DFSS and reliability practices across programs, developing methods and templates.
Independently lead complex technical problem-solving with data-driven decisions.
Guide teams in QFD, CTQ flow-down, DFMEA, DOE, and related methods.
Define test strategies, plans, instrumentation needs, and MSA.
Translate test results and field data into corrective actions and designs.
Coach engineers and project teams to build DFSS capability.
