Job summary

Eaton's Electrical Sector Americas seeks a Principal Engineer - DFSS & Reliability to elevate engineering excellence by translating customer needs into robust requirements, reducing risk, and improving product quality across programs. The role involves leading DFSS deployment, root-cause analysis, design improvements, and coaching teams to build reliability competence.

The position offers hybrid work (3 onsite/2 remote) with relocation assistance, and spans collaboration with product teams,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum 10+ years in product development, systems/quality/reliability engineering.
Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent DFSS expertise.
Hands-on experience applying DFSS and reliability tools in product development environments.
Experience leading root-cause analysis, FMEA, test planning, validation, and data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

Lead deployment of DFSS and Design for Reliability across programs.
Independently lead complex technical and quality problem-solving efforts.
Guide teams in DFSS methods and reliability analyses.
Define test strategies, plans, instrumentation needs, and acceptance criteria.
Translate test results and failure data into corrective actions and design improvements.
Coach engineers and project teams in DFSS practices.
