Highbrow LLC seeks a Principle AI Lead & C4 System Architect to drive enterprise AI initiatives and multimodal systems across on-site locations in Los Angeles or New York, with two days per week in office. The role requires strong C4 modeling, Python/FastAPI backend expertise, and cloud infrastructure leadership.

The candidate will oversee end-to-end architecture, AI harnesses, and delivery teams, while ensuring robust evaluation, safety, and integration with enterprise workflows.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or principal-level capacity.
• AI/ML integration: building agentic workflows, prompt engineering, integrating LLMs/VLMs into production systems and AI evaluation frameworks.
• Cloud & Infrastructure: hands-on with AWS, Azure, or GCP serverless architectures.
• Backend: Python proficiency, high-throughput APIs with FastAPI, migrations, async/multiprocessing workflows.
• DevOps & SDLC: Terraform IaC and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. GitHub Actions).
• Domain: strong understanding of digital broadcast production operations and visual media workflows.
• Architecture: C4 model, enterprise integration patterns, multimodal AI orchestration.

Responsabilités

• Serves as the primary technical decision-maker and lead architect across enterprise AI initiatives, multimodal systems, and distributed workflow platforms.
• End-to-end technical leadership, defining and maintaining system architecture using the C4 model, directing delivery teams, and guiding production-grade agentic AI harnesses, backend microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
• System Architecture & C4 Modeling: Define and maintain C4 architecture diagrams for distributed workflows and oversee reviews and code quality.
• Agentic AI & Multimodal System Design: Build and manage agentic AI harnesses, tool use, multi-step reasoning, integration of LLMs, VLMs, and APIs for automation.
• Backend & Distributed Systems: Design scalable backend microservices using Python and FastAPI on cloud serverless infra; orchestrate event-driven workflows.
• AI Evaluation, Safety & Quality: Establish evaluation frameworks and guardrails to prevent drift and hallucination.
• Team Leadership: Direct delivery engineering teams and align technical strategy with client leadership.
