Job summary

MongoDB is seeking a Pre-Sales Solution Architect to guide customers and partners in designing scalable data-driven solutions. You’ll collaborate with sales to align technology with business outcomes, architecting, sizing, demos, and value storytelling across enterprise accounts.

Based in Minneapolis with a hybrid schedule, you will travel up to 25% and leverage deep knowledge of distributed systems, cloud deployments, and MongoDB’s suite to win deals and accelerate customer success.

Qualifications

• 8–11 years of customer-facing experience with 5–7 years in pre-sales for enterprise software
• 3+ years experience with modern scripting languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, SQL) and/or popular programming languages (C/C++, Java, C#)
• Experience designing scalable, highly available distributed systems in cloud and on‑prem
• Ability to review complex architectures with customers and guide improvements using technology
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills for executive-level stakeholders
• Ability to collaborate with sales to drive a multi-threaded account strategy and coordinate MongoDB resources
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Responsibilities

• Design scalable and performant applications, systems, and infrastructure leveraging MongoDB
• Guide customers on architecture patterns and communicate MongoDB's business value
• Collaborate with sales on account planning, prioritization, and pipeline generation
• Generate demand within the sales territory through technical initiatives and events
• Foster strong customer relationships and ensure customer success
• Mentor other Solutions Consulting team members and share field feedback
• Engage in ongoing training to stay current with MongoDB products
