Leeward Renewable Energy seeks an Analyst/Junior Trader to perform market analysis, build pricing models, and generate scenarios for trading strategies. You will support traders with real-time insights, data management, and weekend trading tasks, leveraging Python, SQL, and Excel.

The role requires 2-4 years on a power trading desk, a quantitative degree, and strong communication to translate analytics into trader-friendly guidance. Hybrid on-site in Dallas with office presence three days weekly.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years as an Analyst or Junior Trader on a Power Trading desk with transactional support experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct short- and long-term market analysis using large datasets to inform trading decisions.
• Develop, maintain forecasting models for pricing, congestion, system load, and related factors using Python, SQL, and Excel.
• Generate scenarios including localized congestion and abnormal market events to shape edge case strategies.
• Monitor real-time market conditions and provide actionable insights to traders.
• Support traders by transacting, monitoring positions, and submitting trades (weekends when required).
• Prepare detailed market analysis reports and dashboards for traders.
• Gather, clean, and manage large datasets for models and analysis.
• Create tools and reports to support trading activities using Excel, SQL, Python, and external APIs.
