Job summary

OceanFirst Bank is seeking a detail-oriented post-closing specialist to support the Commercial Closing department in booking new loans, renewals and extensions. You will ensure all documents are properly executed, recorded, and reconciled across core systems.

The role requires knowledge of lending processes and banking regulations, strong communication with customers and internal teams, and proficiency in MS Office and Fiserv.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of lending process and documentation, and ability to interpret policies & procedures governing commercial lending.
• Working knowledge of general regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to effectively communicate with commercial customers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite, Fiserv and documentation prep programs.
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of credit and customer information.

Responsibilities

• Post-closing review of loan closing packages.
• Verifies documentation necessary for loan type and collateral conformity to protect the Bank's security interest.
• Validates closing practices and administration protocols for loan and collateral type.
• Review of commercial loan packages for regulatory items such as the US Patriot Act, Beneficial Ownership, etc.
• Assists Closing-Post Closing Manager in compilation of data for regulatory compliance and monthly and quarterly auditing.
• Maintains working knowledge of the nCino and Premier operating systems (booking and reporting) and department procedures to perform post closing tasks.
• Recording of documents (mortgages, UCC financing statements and other documents as required).
• Works with relationship managers, the closing department, and borrower's title company to ensure required post closing documentation is received.
• Reviews loan closing or modification documents to confirm any changes are consistent with system updates on the core processing system for operation control group compliance.
• Provides quality control with proper execution of loan documentation, the creation of non-financial tracking reporting.
• Prepares documentation files for system scanning when required.
• Reviews daily department proof and complete proof of general ledgers to ensure all items are reconciled. Assist with the research and resolution of outstanding item.
• Understands compliance with all regulations governing the banking industry, as well as agency guidelines and organization policies.
