Job summary

Headlight in Southern California is seeking a PMHNP to diagnose and treat mental health disorders in a hybrid role requiring 3–4 days in the office weekly. You will provide individual and group therapy, prescribe medications, and maintain thorough patient records.

The ideal candidate has 12 months post-licensure experience, a Master's in Nursing (Psychiatric), ANCC/AANP board certification, an active PMHNP license, and a DEA; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of 12 months of experience post licensure in a psychiatric clinical setting.
• Master's degree in Nursing, with a specialty in Psychiatric Nursing
• Board Certification via ANCC or AANP
• Valid state licensure as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
• Active DEA in the state your prescribing (based on clinic location)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of mental health and emotional disorders
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work as part of a team
• Electronic Health Record (EHR) Proficiency: Must have demonstrated experience in utilizing electronic health record systems efficiently to manage patient data, document clinical information, and access patient histories. Familiarity with NextGen is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat mental health and emotional disorders
• Work a hybrid model, Minimum of 3 or 4 days per week in office, depending on location
• Offer individual and group therapy to patients
• Prescribe and monitor medications when necessary
• Maintain detailed records of patient visits and progress
• Assist in the development of individualized treatment plans
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure patient continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about mental health and emotional disorders
• Participate in community outreach and education
