Job summary

Headlight is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join a mission-driven behavioral health team in Southern California. This full-time, hybrid position offers autonomy in clinical care and collaboration with executive therapists.

You will manage diagnoses, medications, and therapy plans, while leveraging advanced technology to enhance patient care. We provide admin support for billing and insurance, allowing clinicians to focus on client outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of post-licensure psychiatric clinical experience
• Master's in Nursing with Psychiatric specialization required
• Board Certification via ANCC or AANP required
• Valid state PMHNP licensure and active DEA in prescribing state required
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required
• Proficiency with EHR systems, preferably NextGen

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat mental health and emotional disorders
• Work a hybrid model with in-office 3–4 days per week
• Provide individual and group therapy to patients
• Prescribe and monitor medications as appropriate
• Maintain detailed patient records and progress notes
• Develop individualized treatment plans with collaboration from the care team
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals for continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about mental health and treatment options
• Engage in community outreach and education
