Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager, Platform Infrastructure for a rapidly growing fintech, hybrid in Newton, MA. You will lead platform engineering, automation, and internal developer tools to raise delivery quality and velocity.

You will guide architecture-to-production initiatives, improve CI/CD and observability, and mentor engineers to adopt new engineering practices across the org. This role blends leadership with hands-on technical direction.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 2+ years in engineering management or technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on backend software engineering experience.
• Cloud-native environments experience.
• Strong CI/CD and release automation knowledge.
• Kubernetes and containerized applications experience.
• Infrastructure-as-Code practices and tools familiarity.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Improving engineering productivity and delivery processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team focused on platform engineering and infrastructure.
• Improve software development, testing, deployment and operational workflows.
• Build scalable internal platforms to accelerate engineering productivity.
• Drive automation, reliability, observability and developer experience initiatives.
• Partner with engineering leaders to remove delivery bottlenecks.
• Set technical standards across CI/CD, infra automation, testing and monitoring.
• Evaluate technologies to boost developer efficiency and software quality.
• Lead major platform initiatives from architecture to production rollout.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous improvement culture.
• Contribute to long-term platform and engineering strategy.
