Job summary

System One seeks a Platform Engineer to architect and manage hybrid infrastructure, including on-prem VMware and AWS GovCloud. You will drive modernization, automation, and security across Kubernetes, IaC, and monitoring tools in a federal-friendly environment.

The role requires enterprise ESXi expertise, cloud experience, and strong scripting skills, with onsite Washington, DC operations and valid clearance considerations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years supporting enterprise-grade ESXi servers and VMware software.
• Experience designing and troubleshooting large VMware deployments.
• On-premises data centers and AWS GovCloud experience.
• Knowledge of NIST 800-53 and FISMA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain hybrid infrastructure across on-prem and AWS GovCloud.
• Administer and optimize VMware vSphere clusters and Kubernetes fleets (VKS, EKS).
• Lead app modernization and containerization initiatives across cloud/on-prem.
• Build IaC with Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure security, audit logging, and monitoring per standards.
