Job summary

Cushing Terrell in Boise is seeking a Permit Technician to support the permitting process for national retail and grocery projects, working on-site or hybrid from one of our offices. You will identify the permitting scope, prepare submittals, and track status across all states, collaborating with AHJs, architects, and engineers to move permits from application to issuance.

Within the first year you will manage 50 to 75 permits at a time, build relationships across multiple states, and contribute

Qualifications

• Experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industry
• Strong computer skills with Smartsheet, Bluebeam, Outlook
• High attention to detail; small errors cause delays
• Ability to manage several deadlines and priorities
• Effective written and verbal communication

Responsibilities

• Identify the permitting scope for each project and prepare the applications and documentation
• Track jurisdiction contacts and permit status across a growing portfolio nationwide
• Submit permit applications and coordinate through the review process
• Partner with project architects and engineers to gather documentation
• Build and maintain relationships with AHJs across multiple states
• Maintain tracking logs and status reports in Smartsheet
• Flag permit delays and schedule risks to project teams
• Contribute ideas to improve internal permit processes as the department grows
