Job summary

Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) seeks a Payroll Supervisor to manage manual payroll and timekeeping operations following the COMPAS transition. You will supervise a small team, ensure accuracy of deductions, direct deposits, and benefits, and act as a back-up to the Payroll Manager.

Location includes hybrid work with in-office and remote days. Ideal candidates have 6+ years in accounting with payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with CORE (Advantage).

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of accounting experience including timekeeping administration and payroll processing.
• Experience with FLSA and FMLA rules and state personnel regulations.

Responsibilities

• Supervise payroll/timekeeping staff and approve complex payroll actions.
• Provide guidance on payroll, benefits, FMLA, STD, and timekeeping policies.
• Back up Payroll Manager and coordinate with subordinates on deadlines and data accuracy.
• Operate state vehicle for training/meetings as needed.
