Vaco Los Angeles is seeking a Payroll Specialist to manage time keeping, payroll processing, and deductions compliant with state and federal laws across markets. The role is a temporary position with a hybrid work model in Beverly Hills, CA, offering up to $40/hr.

The incumbent will collaborate cross-functionally with accounting and HR to ensure smooth operations, process direct deposits, and adjust tax status and withholdings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is preferred but not required.
• Experience with different payroll systems is required.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll processing across states.
• Knowledge of payroll compliance and tax laws across states.
• Experience using various payroll systems is preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing administration and processing of multi-state payroll on a biweekly/weekly basis.
• Record payroll data in the software system and verify amounts before checks.
• Alter tax status and withholding information as needed.
• Initiate direct deposits for employees.
• Update banking records to ensure accurate payments.
• Record inquiries about payroll and communicate with HR.
• Maintain compliant payroll policies and procedures.
• Handle incentive compensation and equity-based administration.
