Job summary

Spero Health is seeking a Payroll Specialist in Brentwood, TN to join our accounting team. The role supports biweekly, multi-state payroll processes and monthly reimbursements with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The position requires 3–5 years of payroll experience, proficiency in Paylocity and Expensify, and strong MS Office skills. This hybrid role offers growth opportunities within a dedicated care-focused organization.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Accounting or Finance required.
• 3–5 years of progressive payroll and accounts payable processing in a multi-state setting.
• Proficient in multi-state payroll processing and payroll tax reporting.
• Experience with Paylocity highly preferred; Expensify a plus.
• Strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive data with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Process biweekly payroll and monthly reimbursements for multiple states.
• Execute payroll tax activities and file returns as required.
• Reconcile payroll items and prepare payroll summaries and W-2s.
• Coordinate reimbursements and assist with payroll journal entries.
• Respond to employee inquiries and support HR with compliance reporting.
