Job summary

Lifespark in Saint Louis Park, MN seeks a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll team, ensure accurate, timely and compliant processing, and partner with HR, Finance and Operations. This role emphasizes excellence in service, governance, and data integrity across multi-state payroll environments.

Responsibilities include process improvement, tax compliance, garnishments, and payroll analytics, with a strong focus on maintaining accurate general ledger reporting and audit readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in payroll processing with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of multi-state payroll, tax regulations, and data analytics.
• CPP designation preferred; experience with UKG/WFM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on leadership to the payroll team and develop staff to improve processing, compliance, and accuracy.
• Formulates and improves payroll processes, controls and strategy with focus on accuracy and employee experience.
• Manages end-to-end multi-state payroll including hires, terminations, garnishments, tax withholdings and off-cycle payments.
• Remains current with payroll laws and compliance to align processes and controls.
• Develops payroll analytics, partners with Finance to reconcile accounts and support GL reporting.
