Job summary

Rampart IC LLC is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Specialist - HR Generalist to manage full-cycle multi-state payroll and benefits administration in the Birmingham, AL area. The role supports onboarding, offboarding, and HR operations with a hybrid work arrangement.

You will handle benefits enrollment, E-Verify, tax filings, and year-end reporting while ensuring compliance and data confidentiality. A strong payroll background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business, Accounting, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in multi-state payroll administration.
• Experience using ADP for payroll and Employee Navigator for benefits administration strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience handling payroll for teams with variable pay structures, such as commissions and bonuses.
• Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Own processing multi-state payroll for semi-monthly and bi-weekly cycles.
• Maintain payroll records and input data for new hires, terminations, promotions, and deductions.
• Process variable pay items monthly and quarterly (bonuses, commissions).
• Administer and maintain benefits programs via platforms such as Employee Navigator and 401(k) websites.
• Support year-end processes including W-2, ACA reporting, and form 5500.
