Job summary

PACE Southeast Michigan in Southfield, MI seeks a Payroll Accountant to manage bi-weekly payroll for salaried, hourly, and part-time employees, ensure accurate garnishments, tax withholding, and benefits deductions while staying compliant with federal, state, and local laws in a hybrid office setting.

Under supervision of Accounting Manager and in partnership with HR, you will analyze payroll data, prepare journal entries, assist month-end close, and generate reports for audits and year-end

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an Accounting or Finance major.
• Ability to learn PACE SEMI’s financial system and stay compliant with regulations.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Process Bi-Weekly payroll for salaried, hourly and part-time staff.
• Handle garnishments and 401K processing.
• Prepare payroll tax reports and 1095C reporting.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and assist with month-end close.
• Generate payroll reports such as W-2s and quarterly filings.
• Maintain payroll records and respond to employee inquiries.
