Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Patient Service Representative to support high volumes of patient calls, review patient inquiries, and update records in clinical systems. You will work with a team to ensure timely appointment bookings, prescriptions, and referrals while maintaining HIPAA-compliant communication and data integrity.

The role involves initial onsite training followed by a hybrid work arrangement (onsite several days per week, with some days home-based) to support patient care

Responsibilities

• Screens all incoming patient inquiries to determine routing to Patient Service Representative or other team members
• Documents details of each call in the patient's electronic medical record
• Maintains up-to-date patient demographics and contact/insurance information
• De-escalates upset patients and provides options to resolve issues
• Communicates with interdisciplinary teams and supervisors for continuous improvement
• Participates in meetings and training to stay aligned with remote-work workflows
• Provides high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers
