Patient Funding Alternatives (PFA) is seeking a Patient Advocate Specialist for a full-time hybrid role based at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

You will identify, educate, and enroll eligible patients into the Health Insurance Premium Payment program, helping families access employer-sponsored coverage alongside Medicaid. The role blends outreach with collaboration inside hospitals, requiring persistence, empathy, and the ability to manage a caseload, document interactions

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in a patient-facing or customer-facing role with activity/outcome measurement.
• Healthcare settings preferred but related backgrounds translate.

Responsibilities

• Identify and approach eligible patients from hospital referrals and daily census.
• Explain HIPP clearly and compassionately to families.
• Gather authorizations and documentation for applications.
• Own caseload from first contact to enrollment.
• Document interactions in HIPAA-compliant systems.
