Job summary

Ron Sunshine Associates LLC is seeking a Patent Agent in the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science practice to join a prestigious AmLaw 100 firm. This hybrid role involves working with clients across AI, telecommunications, autonomous systems, software, cybersecurity, and hardware platforms.

You will prepare, file, and prosecute USPTO patent applications, collaborate with inventors and in-house teams, and contribute to portfolio strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline.
• Admission to USPTO required.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Familiarity with AI, telecommunications, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and hardware platforms.
• Excellent technical writing, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
• Work with inventors and clients to protect valuable IP.
• Draft patent applications involving electrical, software, communications, and computer technologies.
• Analyze inventions and develop patent protection strategies.
• Support broader portfolio management and IP strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys and technical professionals on domestic and international matters.
