KLA Industries in San Francisco, CA, seeks a Patent Agent specializing in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to join our IP practice. You will prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO, and work with inventors, engineers, and clients on cutting-edge technologies.

Candidates have 2+ years of patent experience and degrees in EE/CE/CS/Physics. Familiarity with ML, AI, telecommunications, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and hardware security is a plus.

Formación

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or related
• Admission to practice before the USPTO required
• 2+ years patent prep/prosecution experience
• Strong technical aptitude to understand complex innovations
• Background drafting and prosecuting patent applications in EE, software, or computer technologies
• Familiarity with ML/AI, telecommunications, autonomous systems, cybersecurity, and hardware security
• Excellent technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work with inventors, engineers, researchers, and IP teams
• Prior law firm, engineering, research, or industry experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Responsabilidades

• Prepare, file, and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO
• Work with inventors and clients to identify and protect valuable IP
• Draft patent applications involving complex electrical, software, and computer technologies
• Analyze inventions and develop strategic patent protection recommendations
• Conduct patentability assessments and support portfolio development
• Assist with IP strategy and portfolio management initiatives
• Collaborate with attorneys and technical professionals on domestic and international matters
