Job summary

University of Colorado Denver’s Denver Career Services is seeking a part-time, temporary Career Counselor to provide comprehensive career counseling to undergraduate students, graduate students, and alumni. This role focuses on goal setting, resume preparation, job search strategies, and interview coaching in a hybrid on-site/remote schedule.

The position lasts up to nine months with Boots to Suits sessions through May 2027.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Psychology, Communication, Sociology, Counseling, Liberal Arts, Education, Human Service, Student Affairs, or related field.
• Two years of professional level experience in career counseling, coaching, and/or advising in higher education (internships may be included).
• Preferred: Master’s degree and experience with MBTI, SII, GallupStrengths, and online programming.

Responsibilities

• Lead career-focused presentations for classes and campus groups.
• Provide one-on-one career counseling for students and alumni; assess needs and direct to services.
• Attend Career Services team meetings remotely.
• Support Boots to Suits and other on-campus programs as needed.
