Job summary

University of Colorado Denver is seeking a Principal Career Consultant to support undergraduate and graduate students and alumni with resumes, LinkedIn profiles, job targeting, networking, interviewing, and professional development. You will liaise with CU Denver Career Center and related departments to connect students with opportunities and quality candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a directly related field from an accredited institution.
• Five (5) years of experience in education, career advising, recruiting, human resources, student support, professional development, or related field.
• Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
• Master’s or Terminal Degree in Counseling, Business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience providing career coaching, career advising, or professional development support, including guidance on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, interviewing, networking, and job-search strategies.
• Experience in recruiting, talent acquisition, human resources, or hiring, with an understanding of employer expectations and hiring practices.
• Knowledge of business career pathways, industry trends, and internship and full-time recruiting practices.
• Experience working with students, alumni, and professionals of all career levels (early-career, mid-career, director-level, and executive level)
• Experience facilitating career-readiness workshops, presentations, or other professional development programming.
• Experience using career services platforms, applicant tracking systems, and job board sites.

Responsibilities

• Advise on resumes, LinkedIn profiles, job targeting, networking, interviewing, and professional development topics.
• Ensure students are aware of career opportunities and that employers receive quality candidates.
• Liaise between students, the university, and business school departments and career services.
• Interact with faculty, clubs, and employers to promote connections within the business school.
• Plan and lead student and alumni outreach events, including workshops and career fairs.
• Mentor others on the career team and contribute to strategic direction.
