Job summary

Colorado College's Counseling Center seeks an Occasional Mental Health Counselor to support students with individual therapy during the academic year and to refer to community providers when needed. This role is hourly, nonexempt, with 12 months of service and an estimated 1000 hours per year.

The position involves urgent care, crisis intervention, and collaboration with the Counseling Center team. The schedule ranges up to 16 hours per week and must align with client needs and center leadership

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or Clinical Psychology required.
• Minimum 2 years direct counseling experience (individual, group, family, couples).
• Experience with crisis counseling and with anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct mental health services to students on hourly basis.
• Conduct mental health and substance abuse assessments.
• Provide urgent mental health care to walk-in and urgent cases.
• Perform emergency mental health evaluations and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain documentation in electronic medical records.
